Immerse yourself in the culinary heritage of Bern – we magically recreate time-honored dishes from past decades for your enjoyment.
At the “Guild Table” dining experience, you can expect amazing stories and amusing anecdotes from the last half millennium of Switzerland, the city-state of Bern and the canton – always with a focus on culinary delights, food and drink. However, you will not be sitting at the guild table in a history lesson, but on a multi-sensory journey through time: The nine-course menu is based on recipes and raw products whose original use is reinterpreted by the team of top chefs.
Watch entertaining films and animations projected directly onto the guild table to find out why nutritional concepts such as nose-to-tail and urban farming have been around for centuries and why the beaver used to be a fish. You can also enjoy veal shank with raisins, wine granité based on the oldest spiced wine recipe in Switzerland, a tarte tatin à l’ognion as a tribute to Bern’s biggest folk festival and six other high-quality dishes.
