History meets modernity! The Burgergemeinde Bern has created the perfect place to come together – for the city, the region and beyond.

Since its opening in 1909, the Casino has been the cultural and social meeting place in the heart of Bern – and will remain so in the future. For over one hundred years it has radiated a unique atmosphere and grandeur; and the list of illustrious guests that has included Louis Armstrong, Grace Kelly and Herbert von Karajan will continue to grow. Concerts, additional cultural events, as well as business events, banquets, and much more fill the historically significant rooms. The Burgergemeinde, owner of the Casino, manages the gastronomy under the direction of Nicolas Röthlisberger.

The Burgergemeinde has restored the late Baroque, Neoclassical building for approximately 78 million Swiss francs and reopened it in September 2019. Following the motto “Back to the Future,” the renovation aimed to stay as close as possible to the original design from 1909.
